Years ago when I was a young adult, I found this clipping in a newspaper. I liked it so much that I placed it in clear plastic. Today it is almost dissolved into the plastic. But the meaning is still true...
"Every time you experience something bad, immediately blot it out with the memory of something good. Seek beauty--you'll find it in the glory of a sunset, the fragrance of a rose, the song of a bird, the handclasp of a friend. And before you know it, you will have created enough new brain cells to shove back into oblivion those which hold only the sad memories."
