Re-dedication of Ogden Temple...

As I was laying in bed tonight trying to go to sleep, my mind kept reflecting on the feelings I had during the session I attended with Lynn, of the re-dedication of the Ogden Temple yesterday.

No regular church service was held because of the Temple re-dedication.  We had attended the middle session at our Stake Building and were reminded that the chapel was a extension of the temple and we were to respect it as if we were in the temple.

President Henry B. Eyring presided over this session.  President Monson had been at the morning session.
Several speakers spoke, and the music was touching...most of it was from the Primary songs testifying of the love for the Lord, and how special our families are.  The speakers also spoke from their heart and expressed the important of family and the temples on the earth.  Some families may have only one chance to go to the temple in their lifetime, and others can go many times.

Also was expressed that only a few people were able to have their work done during the time of Joseph Smith life.  And latter in Utah when temples were built there were only four temples to do all the work for the children of the world, both living and the dead.  While the Salt Lake Temple was being built, People could get their own Endowments done, but not for their dead relatives until the Temple was finish.  It has only been the last few years since Pres. Kimball said the Temples would dot the world and now we have 143.

Temple work has to be done here on earth, as its a world ordnance.

When President Eyring spoke, The feeling of the Spirit was so strong it was hard for me to keep tears from falling, as he spoke there were times he felt the sweetness of the Holy Ghost, and his words struggled to come out.  It was wonderful to feel how strong the influence of the Holy Ghost testified of the truth of the things being spoken.  I had a tingling feeling all over my body.

As we all stood in our places and the meeting came to a close, not a word was spoken, no one moved.  No one wanted to leave.  We stood there in silence.  After the doors opened, we slowly walked out, not a word was heard until we were completely outside the building.

I didn't want to leave, I felt tingling all over...

As I came home and changed cloths, I had the strong feeling I needed to go be with Paulette in the last session.  She lives in a different Stake than myself.  I kind of dismissed it, and again it came, get dressed and go.....I didn't know if I could make it in time, but I quickly got dressed again and drove over to their church stake building.  After showing my Temple Recommend, I found Paulette on the second bench from the front and surprised her, She did not know I was coming.


My Stake President, Stephen Collings, is a very spiritual person.  He has great influence on everyone he meets.  He has always asked us members to  prepare spiritually for any special meeting that comes, including attending the Temple before Conferences, Stake or General, so we can be in tune with our Heavenly Father.
I am not surprised that the influence of the Holy Ghost was present with us.

Lynn's Mom....

I am going to a viewing for Lynn's Mom, Edith Powell Walker, tonight at the Sunburg Mortuary in Orem Utah.

She died the 24 of Aug. in American fork, at the age of 92.  Lynn was asked by the Bishop-rick of her ward, to offer the family prayer tomorrow at the viewing before her funeral.
She was buried beside her husband Bernard William Walker in the Orem City Cementary, Sept 3 2014.

As I looked upon her body in the casket I did not recognize her.  She had lost a lot of weight. My guess would be she was some where around 240 the last time I saw her alive.  In her casket she was very thin.  No matter how I looked at her face,  she was unrecognizable to me.  I even wondered if the mortuary had made a mistake and put the wrong body in the casket. My feelings were, that I did not know this person.

The viewing at the mortuary was very nice. Lots of family, friends, and neighbors of hers came.
The funeral was held Sept 3, in American Fork at her ward where she was living.  Despite all the hostile feelings, the funeral went well.

Paulette and James and the boys were in attendance, also David, his kids Melody and Darren with his xwife, were there.  Our friend Larry Johnson, who we went to school with, was also there.

Robin Williams...

It has been a very sad day...Robin Williams died yesterday,  one of my favorite actors.
 He spent years making people happy, He was known around the world, He took care of many people without being known.

He made every one happy and feel better, but he himself was not....His depression finally caused him to take his own life.

I found out  yesterday that Christopher Reed, who played superman in the movies, and fell off a horse and became parlized.  Robin Williams paid all his medical bills while he was alive.  He also donated hugely to children hospitals, and many more.

Robin Williams played in many movies.... In the Movie Hook, he played Peter Pan,  Mrs Doubtfire,  Dead Poet Society,  Patch Adams,  RV,  he was the voice of the Genie in the Animation of Aladdin.  This is just a few of my favorites.

The news reporters said there are four more movies to come out,  that he had made for this year.

The whole world is sad, and in shock, we all enjoyed him...
He made us Happy.....




About a week later, Comedian, Actress, Joan Rivers died.
I wasn't too impressed with her acting, but learned to appreciate her honesty when she was on "The Apprentice"
She was in her 80's when she died.

Spock, from Star Track NG, also died in Feburary 2015.

New Phone...

I have had the blessing of being on my daughters cell phone plan this last year, she calls our phone a brick phone, because it only talks and text.  Our phone company, Cricket, merged with another company and upgraded.  Meaning our brick phones would not be working in about a month.  They offered us a new Smart Phone at a very low price, and to stay on the same family plan.

What a nice Surprise.....Its like having a small computer in your hand.  Never thought I would ever have one...They are too expensive to buy, and the plans are too expensive for me.  So this is a real treat.. I so appreciate Pauli and James working with us....Oh Yes Lynn has one too!

Growing up, our family phone was a Dial Telephone, with a wire to the wall.  At least four party's, or houses on one line.  You would lift the receiver and lessen to see if anybody elts was talking.  If not you waited for the dial tone, then  dialed the number you wanted, or you could call the operator for help.

I remember when Mom and Dad finally got a private line.. it was just for us to use. No noisy neighbors lessening to what we were talking about. No wonder TV shows have fun with the old country phones, and gossiping getting out, on a party line, that's the way it use to be.

Some one thought it would be a great idea to put a phone in a car.  A phone on a wire from the handset to the receiver.  It Worked, Expensive, a Novelty, Cumbersome,  and very few of them.  Then came the Brick size early cell phone,  like the one they used in the army.

Phones kept getting smaller, and better....As a young mother I thought the ladies were crazy taking a phone with them when they had to drive somewhere....it seemed to me that was the only quiet place I had, ...to be away from the house, and phone for a hour or two....I didn't see the logic of  taking the confusion with me all the time...

People are getting away from land lines (phones attached to houses) and just carrying their own cell phones.
Well here I am....My time has changed... and I am Carrying a Smart Phone in my pocket....too!

Surprise in the Flower Garden...

Earlier this month, Lynn and I were planting some flowers in the front flower bed.  As Lynn was trying to level a lump of dirt, He uncovered a unopened bag of Marshmallows buried in the dirt.

What a Surprise!  We have no idea how it ever got there...

 Mike from Ariz.  said "You found them...I was wondering where I had put those."
Paulette said " Marshmallow trees would be far more popular with the neighborhood kids than just a                                   popcorn tree."
Jeanette Brimhall said "Now to find the chocolate bars and graham crackers."

New little Boy...

What a wonderful day...We have a brand new member to our growing family...
Derik James Inman was born this afternoon at 1:57 pm.
He weighed 9lb and 13.5 0z. and  21 1/2 inches in length.
Jodie said he looks like his older brother Eian, from the picture James sent us from Jordon Valley Medical Center. (Hospital)

I can hardly wait to see this new little boy.  James said Pauli was feeling good, I was glad to hear it.

Crack! Crack!...

Last Monday, May 12, I met with a group of ladies who play cards.  Hand and Foot. Its a fun game, and its time away to visit and have fun for about three hours a week.

We often have a light lunch, and I was going to pour some dressing on my tossed salad when the large bottle slipped from my hands and landed on the floor.  A few little drops had splashed on the floor. I tried to wipe them up with a paper napkin when I heard crack! crack! crack!... my knees gave away and I found myself on the floor, rolling onto my back!...Surprise!....I didn't know how I was going to get up!  I couldn't roll onto my knees as they are fragile and should have been replaced a couple of years ago.

My sweet friends got together, four of them and pulled me to my feet.  I didn't think they could do it but they did.  I was not in pain at all, just surprised that my knees gave away, and I was sitting on the floor....
