Growing Family...

Our family is growing again this year, faster than I can keep up with.

Ivie, Launie's daughter, is getting married 25th of April.

David, is getting married for the third time, 3rd of April, in the American Fork Temple.

Mike and Jennifer are expecting  number five some time in Sept. or Oct.

Lynn and I will be married Fifty years in June.


I wish Lynn and I were younger so we could enjoy our family more...It seems younger
folks like to be more with others closer to their own age.  Right now Lynn and I are over
forty years older.  Not as active, and facing more physical problems at this age, that the
younger ones don't know and have not experienced yet.

 I understand,... I have done that to....but I still miss them, they are my children...

Jodie's Copper Mine....

One day Jodie, About Jr High age, announced to me that she could find some money she needed by cleaning her room!..

What a great idea!...I always had some hands full of  coins, mostly pennies, that weighted down my purse, I have just been putting them a side.

So when Jodie's room needed cleaning, or she needed some extra money, without telling her, I would  throw the coins around her room. As she cleaned,  she found a  Copper mine....   

Sharon Brimhall...

My Brother Verl's wife died the day after Christmas.  Dec 26, 2014, In Yuma Reagional Medical Center in Yuma Arizona.  I believe She died from a stroke.

Her funeral was in Provo, Jan 3, 2015, and was buried in Provo City Cemetery.

I felt bad that I could not go because I had surgery.  A right knee replacement.

Rusty...

During this week I received a Surprise Christmas gift from Pauli.  She called and asked if I could come over, I was under the impression she needed a little help for something.....

As I called to let her know I was just around the corner from her house, she said she would meet me outside.  As I pulled onto the driveway, she hopped in and  indicated she needed me to drive somewhere, not very far.

A few houses down the road we stopped and Pauli jumped out of the car and headed for the front door. This is a lady that Pauli visit teaches, and she raises Canary's.

As I followed Pauli she soon had a little rust and brown bird in a cage.  A baby Canary for me.

Jack, our yellow Canary,  is getting older, he is about twelve years now, and I don't know how long we will have him.  I so enjoy listening to him sing.  Pauli said the baby bird would learn faster and could copy some of Jacks song.

I tried putting the baby in with Jack, not sure if he would accept him....To my surprise I think Jack likes the company.

I called him Rusty, because of the beautiful rust colors that he has, it will deepen the older he gets.  Rusty is more in the natural Canary.  He is soo cute!....and will be a good singer....

UPDATE:   I was surprised to find out that it is Rusty who is singing so strongly...I thought it was Jack being happy....but Pauli snuck a peek and saw that Rusty was singing.......

More Surgery...

Just found out that I have to have both knees replaced.  My left is worse than my right one, however my right one is pinching the nerve on the outside of my leg, which is causing my foot and ankle to be numb.  So my right knee will be replaced first, Dec 29th, the Monday after Christmas.

Then depending how I do in a few weeks the left one will be done.
Tomorrow I will be having injections in my spine to control the pain from the sciatic nerve starting again.

 I am also watching the movement of a impacted wisdom tooth, which will require surgery too....

Here goes another year.....( Don't Get Old.)....


We have lived here in Utah for ten years.....in that time I have had eight Surgery's.

Jimmy Bird...

I watched Jimmy Bird with pleasure, grins and quiet laugh as He was beating up his bell hanging by where he sleeps in the back corner of his cage.  Jimmy has just begin to play and enjoying it.
He truly had his bell swinging all over the place.

I believe he is beginning to trust us, a little more each day.  We rescued him about 11 years ago  and he is just beginning to play like a bird.

Thanksgiving Day...

Its Thanksgiving Day, and I wonder if people have forgotten why we have a day like this.
A day set aside to remember our blessings and to give thanks to our Creator for them. To live in a country and enjoy the freedoms we have, and remember that many lives were given so that we could.
To have a living Prophet and to be living close by him.  To witness Temples of our Lord dotting the world.  To turn on TV and watch Conference...anytime! To be able to read Holy Scriptures that testify of Jesus Christ, that he lives,  and tell of his life and why he loves us so much.

A day to bring family together, to remember that we are a family, spending time,  catching up and sharing our love for each other.


A few times I was giving blessings of  someone just taking over or helping with the preparation of all the foods for the day...Mostly James and one year James, Tom and Mike  just took over.....What a blessing, I had a whole day visiting with my children.  Of course they are grown with children of their own....But that was a gift I will always remember.

Most of the time I have spent days  and spending the whole day preparing  the foods.  And by the time I was able to sit down and visit, the kids were getting ready to leave.

For the first time...this year with no family, just Lynn and I....We decided to eat out instead of working in the kitchen.  It was different.  We went to Denny's and had Turkey, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy and vegetables, and garlic bread.

I had made a cherry pie this morning, so when we came home we had pie and ice cream.

I missed my family, ,... their laughter and stories, things happening in their families, their dreams and hopes, how they are growing, and grandchildren.
I have Pauli close by,  but they will be moving sometime soon.

I am beginning to think young folks are so busy,... just trying to live, ...that they forget their own family that has taken care of them their whole life.  And are somewhere in the back memories, ...somewhere.....

Lynn said that on Thanksgiving most families eat Dinner and watch Football....
                              today we ate Dinner and watched  Jurassic Park!....
