The Cook's Book...

This year I realized my Recipes were fading in my cookbook. Recipes that I have used through my married life.  Recipes from my family, and friends that are just to my liking. I included people's names from whom the recipes came from.  What a neat way to be able to remember who they are, and how they touched my life.

As I was typing the recipes on my computer, I realized my daughters always call me to get recipes, from time to time.  So I thought I might make one for each of my girls for Christmas.

Much to my Surprise I had over 146 Recipes.....Some are doubled--so about 150 or more.

Paulette picked out beautiful binders.  I placed the recipes on top of card-stock, to make the pages a little stiffer, and slipped them into a good Top-load plastic sleeves, before placing them in the binder.

The Top-load plastic sleeves make it easy to make notes or improvements on the recipes by sliding them out when needed.  It protects, and is easy to wipe off when needed. 

My Girls may not like all the recipes in the book, but that's ok...I want them to make it their own.  

Take out what they don't like or want.  Make notes on recipes the way they like to cook them.  

Just enjoy reliving things,  from when they were living at home...

A New Year...2014

Today is January 1, 2014......Fireworks, and Bells, ring in the New Year, as the old year slips away....

A starting of a brand new year!  Every day is clean, and fresh and ready for new experiences


My daughter Paulette gave me something very special for Christmas.  She created a professional book of my writings in this blog, from 2007 to 2013.  I have spent many hours of enjoyment reading and re-reading the things I have written about. I am so delighted to hold in my hand, a beautiful book.

Also I received my copy of Paulette's second book, "Crystal Gate".  Paulette has a wonderful gift for writing.  I have read this book about 4 times before it went to print, and I am looking forward to reading it in print.

Last year 2013 has been a hard one, lots of things happening.  I was introduced to Sciatic Nerve pain.
It was the worse pain I have ever experienced. It was so bad that I could see how death could be a welcome relief.  I also found out my pain is caused by Arthritis, filling in the holes of my spine where the nerve moves through.

Both Lynn and I had major dental surgery.
Our sweet Baby Bird, Shon, died... She is greatly missed.
December I had to have more shots in my spine for the Sciatic Nerve pain.
Also found out I need a knee replacement soon.  I am just falling apart.
Lynn also received a hearing aid, which has greatly helped him...and me.
3 years of the shredding of the Walker family, continues....so very sad.

Amber Hone, Launie's daughter is serving a Mission in Spain.  She is doing so awesome.
Both Eian, Paullette and James son, and Bella, Jodie and Will daughter both had 1st Birthdays.
James has Graduated from Fortis College, in November, for Nursing...
    I am so proud of him for sticking to it, going to school, and working full time.

Paulette and James are expecting a new son in June...


A New Year...Means a New Time, or a New Beginning...

     What I would like to do this year:
         Be more Grateful, and express it.
         One day a week work on Genealogy
         Try to do some Name Extraction.
         Attend the Temple more
         Learn more about the Savior by reading  Scriptures
         Write in my Blog
          Learn two songs on my Harp
          Loose 5 more pounds.

Lynn Foot Surgery....

Last Friday, Jan 4, 2013, Lynn had surgery on his right foot, at the Tooele Hospt. .  Dr. Rogers, and Dr. Halladay,  removed a growth that was on the bottom, inside the skin of his right foot.  It was about the size of a tightly closed fist. Made of several grouping in one mass.  They made a incision on the side of his foot, removed the growth. The pressure of the growing growth on the nerves,  had caused the foot to become cold and numb.  Dr. Rogers said it could take up to a year to recover.

Joking Dr. Rogers said that Lynn would be in the medical books.  Because the lab where they sent the mass did not know what it was.  So they sent it to Huntsman Cancer Institute  and they did not know what it was.  So they sent it to a top expert back east and the Dr. there knew what it was, and found it to be Benign, or not cancer.

Lynn last had surgery in 1975, when they worked on his ear.  He has forgotten how long it takes to recover from surgery.

Neighborhood full of Angels....

My feelings are so deep right now, that I have no words that can express the gratitude for all the Angels who have blessed our lives.
I often feel a little bit of Heaven fell down to earth and landed in Grantsville.  And for some strange reason we have come to live among the Angels here.

For over a year I have loved my friends dining table. Its Solid Golden Maple Wood, with a very unique slide out top, which holds a hidden table leaf, with real gears for smooth movement.  One of high quality made.

Yesterday my friend called and said they were on their way over to my house, which is across our neighborhood.  Penny brought her beautiful table, and eight wooden, high back dinning chairs...... for me.    I couldn't believe it.......  She had bought a new dinning set and gave me this one.  Its so beautiful.

Penny could have sold the set for a large sum of money, probably in the thousands because of the high quality, and good care she had given it.   Instead  she gladden my heart with pure delight.

Sister Amber Hone...sounds good...

Yesterday in General Conference, President Monson said there is a change in age for young adults to become Missionaries.  As of yesterday, a young adult, who has graduated from High School, or equal to it, and Boys age 18, and Girls age 19 are now excepted for Missionary service.

Today my Granddaughter  Amber, informed me she has an appointment with her Bishop this week, and she wants to serve a Mission.

Amber is Launie's daughter.  Launie is my oldest daughter.

UPDATE:  Dec 21, 2012    Amber received her Mission Call to Spain.    She reports to the Mission home on May 1, 2013.

Update...Sept 2012...

This is a update in my life today.  I am feeling better every day, my strength is increasing, I am able to do more each day, which is a blessing at this time. It looks like I may be loosing the toenail on my big toe, on my right foot.  The Dr. said it could happen with Chemo.

Around the first of the year Lynn health was struggling
 Our Family Dr. sent him to my Cancer Dr. (Dr. Chandramouli) as he is one of the top Hematologist, in the nation.

The results of testing showed that Lynn has Myelofibrosis, with a deformed gene that is called Jack 2.
There is no cure. Dr. Chandramouli said life expectant is about 10 years.

Lynn and I feel this has been triggered as a results of the complications of the Walker family problems, and his caring for me through my cancer treatments.

About Aug 1st, Lynn started participating in a experimental chemical study at Huntsmans at the University of Utah. I have been driving him into Salt Lake City 2-3 times a week.

Lynn has no energy.  He has very little strength, and it is short lived.
He sleeps a lot, and moves very slow, including sometimes, his speech.....Like a car which is driving in the lowest possible gear.
Every time he has to deal deeply with the Walker problem, he gets sick.  Its sad because he is the oldest of the siblings, and they look up to him, for advise or just for someone to listen to them, because they are all hurting.

Right now we have also found out Lynn's sister, Judy, has cancer in her back, which she is receiving treatment.  Last year they found a cancer spot on her lung, which she had surgery for.  Judy is a nurse, and has gone to her Moms and Dads aid all the time. Now she is not even permitted to talk to her mom.

It is  strange, because I have always depended on Lynn, and now I am the one who is getting stronger.
I have realized that more is expected of me....... and I am trying to do all that I can.

I Answered Your Prayers....

For months I have felt sorrow for not sharing in the Happiness that surrounds Jodie, my youngest.  In my complaint to the Lord, I received this answer...

I Have Answered Your Prayers.......I got Jodie out of Parker, and Lake Havasue because of the bad influence that was there.
I did bring her to Provo Utah where she would be safe, and reinforced her strength, as she had to deal with a bad relationship.
I introduced her to a Wonderful Man.
I led her to the Temple for a Temple Marriage, to be sealed for all Eternity.
And blessed her to be part of a family that is strong in the Church, being surrounded by two strong families that love her.
I have granted Her prayers to be a Mother......

What More Do You Want From Me??????....
