I mentioned it to Lynn, and told him to start saving for a new machine, as this sounded worse than any others we have had before.
About two weeks ago we were lucky to have completed a small wash load, before the washer was screaming to stop. Realizing it would cost more to fix then to buy, we decided to look for a new washer which we might be able to afford.
We decided to stop at Home Depot on our way to Salt Lake City, to see what they might have, and was surprised to find out they had a nice sale running on appliances.
I have dreamed of having a front load washer, where the door was on the front side. I realized, I struggle getting cloths out of the dryer, because of the trouble I have with my back. The washer would need a stand for it to sit on, and that would cost another $250 which we don't have.
We did find a Lg upright washer which has everything the Lg front loader does, including a window in the lid. As one of the new washers, it does not have a agitator in the middle of the tub.
It was fun to talk to her and to learn more about my machine, I am looking forward to when it comes, in five more days.
In my mind I remember with warmth, the excitement we both had as we talked.
UPDATE:
It was delivered Sat. Oct 4.....Oh, what a Machine!!! I was surprised mostly, that it uses very little water. I am use to a washer filling up the tub, with water to wash cloths. This machine weighs the cloths and then decides how much water to use. Often the water does not cover the cloths. Most of the time it runs for about a hour, going through many cycles. I am surprised how clean the cloths come out. It has a computer inside that does most all the decision. It locks the lid to keep children from accidentally getting in and getting hurt while its running. It makes all kinds of sounds as it goes through its cycles, not loud just sounds, like sounds going from bottom pitch to a high pitch, and back down again. These new sounds are just on the other side of the wall, where the bird room is. And they are scared of them, not knowing what it is, that's invading their room.
We definitively have reached a modern age in washing machines. Kind of scary to think that something so technical, and expensive, could be destroyed very easy by some over powering electrical power surge.
So far so good,.....after time passes I will make up my mind more....how ever, its here and we are paying for it. I just hope its not like a lot of choices I have made in the past... and regret my decision...
Oct 28....I am very impressed with this washer....I am still spell bound with the way it works...however the cloths come out very clean.
