A Dusting of the Cobwebs....

welcome to my blog!
...allow me a brief introduction...

In a reacent conversation with my daughter, her questions were why I, and her Dad were so quiet about our lifes? Meaning writing or telling about our own personal historys.

I didn't think there was anything important to write about. As I was just a normal person, getting up in the morning and getting the day started, getting kids off to school, or meeting schedules of the whole family, cleaning house, and landry. Keeping little ones busy, and changing diapers, comming home fixing dinner, helping with homework, putting kids to bed, watch some news, go to bed. And then do it all over again the next day. Then some days was teaching lessons in Primary, RS, MIA, Sundayschool, cub scouts, or helping at schools, ect. Family home evening, Visiting teaching, and even some Home teaching and being the family schaefer. most of the time we had one car, 6 kids, one working husband. Oh yes, the multi years of music lessons, and baseball teams, coaching, and even one major jumproap champion, for one daughter.

We had trials too. some were very hard, just thinking about a single memory of losing our son, brings tears. But we are told that this life is to meet trials, and how we handle them will be for our own eternal growth.

A very wise Stake President, President Alred, once said "We are here to be schooled in the principles of eternity. We will work by the sweat of our brow, to work our way through this life... But remember we are here to be schooled in the principles of eternity."

So, I welcome you to my blog. Please feel free to stay and go as you please, and wander where you wish. And, as always, feel comfortable in sharing those stories that you may feel are just "an every day" thing as well...

My Fall....

Sept 9 2018

I was on my way to the Temple, feeling good because I was going earlier.  I had found a parking space right away, and looking forward to my time serving in the Temple.
As I was walking across the stone walkway across the Conference Center,  My shoe caught one of the edges of one of the brick like stones, and I found myself heading toward the cement  My glasses went flying as my forehead, nose and chin hit the cement.  I thought for sure that I had broken my nose, and bit my lip.  I rolled on to my back, there was nothing I could do but lay there.  My head was hurting, my nose and mouth, also my knees and hands.

I heard someone ask if I was alright, I moved my head to indicate that I was not.  I heard her call for Security...  One of the Sisters I work with was soon at my side, holding my hand.  I also had in my hand my Temple recommend, which she took and put into my purse, so I would not loose it.... I asked her to tell Sis Rose, my supervisor, that I may not make it today.  I heard someone say that I was a Temple worker.
I was soon surrounded by Church Security, Temple Security, Paramedics, Fireman, and others.
I was checked over to make sure I would be ok,  Someone started asking me questions, How old was I...74, What is your name... Carolyn Walker, Do you know where you live... Grantsville, Do you have some identification?... They wanted to take me to a hospital, but I told them I could not afford it.  The Temple Security had brought a wheel chair for me to ride in, and they took me to the Temple. I was embarrassed, but grateful for all the kindness.  As I was helped to my feet, I saw a Paramedic van, and a Bright Cherry Red, brand new, huge ladder firetruck sitting on the corner!.....You could not have had a bigger flag than that!

I soon found Sister Rose, who told me that she had assigned my work schedule out, and I would be studding for a while.  After two hours of keeping a eye on me, she asked if I would be able to drive home. which I did.  Sister Rose gave me the phone number of the  Secretary to the Temple President, and told her I would be calling her.....and told me she wanted me to call her as soon as I got home.

My nose was swollen, my lip was too and bleeding inside my skin.  My chin ended up being black and blue with the blood bleeding inside.  My lip was swollen.  My forehead hurt.
I hurt all over, my wrist and knee were brused too....To my surprise, my glasses were not broken, not even a scratch on them...

Launie happened to come from Idaho, and stayed with me a few days, which was a great blessing.
After the shocked look on Brother Grua's face, I asked if he would give me a priesthood blessing.  Which he did, In the blessing he blessed me that my body would heal quickly.  He also said that Lynn was present....  Launie also said she had felt his presence to.

After seeing my Chiropractor, and my Doctor, I was told that I had a concussion,  and pneumonia on both sides... I see the Dr. in two weeks two see where I am at...
