A Dusting of the Cobwebs....

welcome to my blog!
...allow me a brief introduction...

In a reacent conversation with my daughter, her questions were why I, and her Dad were so quiet about our lifes? Meaning writing or telling about our own personal historys.

I didn't think there was anything important to write about. As I was just a normal person, getting up in the morning and getting the day started, getting kids off to school, or meeting schedules of the whole family, cleaning house, and landry. Keeping little ones busy, and changing diapers, comming home fixing dinner, helping with homework, putting kids to bed, watch some news, go to bed. And then do it all over again the next day. Then some days was teaching lessons in Primary, RS, MIA, Sundayschool, cub scouts, or helping at schools, ect. Family home evening, Visiting teaching, and even some Home teaching and being the family schaefer. most of the time we had one car, 6 kids, one working husband. Oh yes, the multi years of music lessons, and baseball teams, coaching, and even one major jumproap champion, for one daughter.

We had trials too. some were very hard, just thinking about a single memory of losing our son, brings tears. But we are told that this life is to meet trials, and how we handle them will be for our own eternal growth.

A very wise Stake President, President Alred, once said "We are here to be schooled in the principles of eternity. We will work by the sweat of our brow, to work our way through this life... But remember we are here to be schooled in the principles of eternity."

So, I welcome you to my blog. Please feel free to stay and go as you please, and wander where you wish. And, as always, feel comfortable in sharing those stories that you may feel are just "an every day" thing as well...

A Special Blessing...

Image result for lds mesa temple
Years ago Lynn and I was attending the Temple in Mesa Arizona.  After the session was over,  we were changing back into our street clothing, in the dressing rooms.   Lynn all of a sudden had a nose bleed.  He thought he had grabbed his white shirt which was hanging behind him, to catch the blood.  Too his surprise he had accidentally grabbed his  sacred Temple robe.  In a shock feeling he checked the robe to see what damage was done and was surprised and relieved to see no blood was on it.

I was getting changed, in the dressing room for women,  I reached to put on my slip, and saw blood.  I checked myself all over and found no source of any reason why I would be bleeding, and for it to be on my slip. That was a very strange feeling.

As I met Lynn he told me of his experience, and I told him of mine....we were both surprised...
We also told one of the temple workers of the experience... His reply was "It happens all the time in the Temple"...  Sacred things are protected.

Found a Memory....

I found some notes I had written when Lynn was having trouble with his illness back in 2015.  They had been left in a yearly planner that I had.

June 2015
It feels strange  all of a sudden, Lynn needing to have a oxygen supply.
During one week it seemed he couldn't quite get over a cold he had.... His Minears symptoms had returned.
Checking with Dr. Jones, Lynn's EMT, seemed to feel that Lynn's Minears seemed to be stable.  He also noticed that Lynn's blood pressure was low and wanted him to go to the family doctor and get checked out.

I tried to get Lynn to go to the ER at the hospital but he refused...saying he would be getting a skan at Huntsman hospital on Friday.   When Friday came Lynn was having a hard time breathing.  I stopped at BOC oxygen Company, on the way to see if we could get a tank on oxygen that Lynn could use so we could make it to Huntsman, which was about a hour and fifteen minets to drive.

We learned Lynn had to have a doctor permission to have a tank of oxygen for daytime use.

At Huntsman I informed Lynn we were not going home after his skan, until he saw his doctor or nurse.  His nurse while lessening to Lynn explain why he needed a tank of Oxygen, checked his chest and informed us that the only doctors around at that time was in the ER next door at the University Hospital.  She also told me to get a xray of Lynns chest as she could hear something there.

As Lynn again was explaining to the ER doctor why he needed a tank of oxygen for daytime, I told him what Lynn's nurse had said.  He immediately had a chest xray done.....I saw it when it came back. The Doctor said it looked like both of his lungs were covered in cotton candy, and some water in the bottom of the Lungs.

He said "Your not going anywhere!"  and had Lynn admitted to the Huntsman Hospital.
Lynn was in  for about two weeks.

A Priesthood Blessing....

During this last week I requested a Priesthood blessing from my Home teacher, Bro Rilley.  He also asked Bro Trapp to come.

I had asked for a Priesthood blessing because a man by the name of Dennis, Tony Walker's friend, had come to my house.  When he found me not at home, he went over to the Grua's home and started asking questions.  I was not comfortable that they were coming to my home after Lynn had died.  Trying to get me to sell to them a piece of property that belongs to Troy, and had accidentally been put into Lynn and Judys  name, Lynn sister.  both were trustees of their fathers estate.  When Lynn died it came to me.

The Blessing Bro Rilley gave me was very special.  As he spoke I could feel a sweetness present.  It was like it was at the time Lynn had passed.  Just sweetness filling the air.   I believe that someone from the other side of the vale was present, and stayed in my home through the night, being with me and  comfort to me.  It reminded me of the feelings that were present when Lynn passed.

When I told Cory Grua, (our Stake Patriarch ) about this experience, he said Angels were present.

My Brother, Ivan H Brimhall...

March 16, 2017

My brother Verl, called me today and told me that our older brother Ivan H Brimhall, died today, In his home in Salt Lake City, while he was sleeping, this morning.

Yesterday a wisper came to me that Ivan would see our Mom and Dad before I would.  A spirit whispering often feel like a soft thought.
I love my Mom and Dad and miss them to.

Ivan and Grace would drive from Salt Lake City to Grantsville to visit with me once in a while.  The last two times, they were here,  Ivan had lost a lot of weight.  The last time he came,  I weighted more than he did.
One time he had said that he didn't like the Huntsman Hospital, because people who go in there get cancer, and he was not going back there.

I learned the last time I visited with him that he had been going to the Temple, which pleased me greatly.  He never came out and told you things, you just picked them up in the conversation.

Ivan's funeral will be on Thursday, March 23, at 11:00 Am with a viewing before at 9:30 AM.
At Riverside 1st Ward building, in Salt Lake City,  the ward that Ivan attended.  Also a viewing Wednesday evening in the same building.

His burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Both Verl and myself will be at the funeral.  I was asked to give the opening prayer.

David....

2017

During this year David and Marisol found a nice home on the west side of Provo, along the old Geneva road. It has lots of possibility's,  there will be a some work, as always, to make a home just the way one likes it.

When Davids boss found out that David was planning on leaving his employment, as he wasn't making enough money to pay his bills,  His boss met with David and Marisol and informed David that he could not do without him, and gave David a nice raise.

David then met with the other employer whom he was to start work for the following week, and let him know that he would be staying with his old employer, as he had given him a raise to meet his needs.

David wanted to explain in person, instead of a phone call, or just not show up.  I am very proud of him for his honesty.

Miracles....

January, about 6, 2017

I  often reflect in amazement of how the Lord works in our lives.  Often its in a quiet manor, and once in a while with swift bold moves that almost takes your breath away.... And so it happened,  just last week.
About twelve years ago, Pauli was a member of a writers group in Tooele, Utah.   and made some good friends.
Last week Pauli and the kids,  went to the DI, there she met Wendy, a friend who also had been part of this writers group, and hadn't seen her for a while.  In talking together it came out that sometime Pauli would like to have a home of her own... Wendy said that Shanna, another friend,  who was also a writer, and LDS, was selling her home in Tooele.

Shanna had been married twice, her second  husband was very violent.  He had beat her and in his anger took a baseball bat to the inside of the house, creating a lot of damage.
With all the bad memories, Shanna just wanted out and was planning on moving to where her parents live, out of state.
The asking price for the home would be close to what Pauli and James could manage.  Also with rent to own a possibility.

Last Wednesday, I had dinner with my friend Penny Pristwich, who has had several dealings with homes..... I was asking questions for my own information,  without talking about Pauli and James.  But Penny put the pieces together, and called a friend of ours, David Gumucio  (Gumby) who deals with property.

Gumby called me the next morning.... I told him briefly, Shanna situation, and Pauli and James interest.  I told him about the area of where the house was without giving him the address.  I also gave him Pauli's phone number, and let her decide what to do with him...

Thursday morning Pauli and James and myself went to see the home.  Gumby also came to give his opinion of the amount of damage that was done,  and to my surprise Shanna came.  Neighbors had seen us in the home and called her.   It was good that everyone was there to talk, and receive some ideas and information.

The home would be perfect for Pauli family.... It is 15 years old.  Has three floors.  Top floor has four bedrooms, and two bathrooms.  The middle floor has a front room and a kitchen area,  The basement has a bathroom, a family room, and a utility room.   A single garage, and a small yard.
The rooms are small, but workable.

It will take a lot work and time to repair all the damage, but in time it will be worth it.
Hopefully they will be able to move in after some repair, and work on it as they go.

UP DATE:   Feb 27, 2017.... The Contract has been signed, Pauli and James have a home, Rent with option to buy.  The inspection was today Feb 28, House is soundly in good condition, just a lot of surface work to be done.  Hopefully they can move in,  in April.

This is a Wonderful Blessing for Pauli and James, but also for Shanna.
